The problem:

Foreplay Golf Shop, an online retailer based in the United States, specialises in providing high-quality and affordable golf equipment. However, their existing website was failing to represent the brand’s promise. Originally built on Shopify, the site had an outdated and static design that did not resonate with modern shoppers. It lacked mobile responsiveness, making it difficult for users to browse and shop on tablets and smartphones. The platform also had major limitations in terms of integration, preventing the use of essential third-party tools for marketing, analytics, and customer engagement. These limitations ultimately led to friction in the user experience, lower engagement, and a decline in conversion rates.

The Solution:

To overcome these obstacles, Blinto migrated the website from Shopify to WooCommerce, the powerful e-commerce plugin for WordPress. Unlike Shopify, WooCommerce allowed deeper integration with a wide range of plugins and third-party tools without the recurring monthly app fees or platform restrictions. By leveraging WooCommerce’s native capabilities, we ensured seamless product management, dynamic filtering, secure payments, and scalable checkout flows. Powerful plugins were integrated to give the client full visibility into how shoppers interact with the site.
A sleek, modern, and sporty interface was designed using Figma, aligning with the brand’s personality and appealing to golf enthusiasts. The navigation structure was rebuilt from the ground up to simplify the customer journey and make product discovery effortless. Product pages were enhanced with faster load speeds, high-converting layouts, and rich content, improving both aesthetics and functionality. It made information easier to digest and act upon. The result was a more professional, user-centric platform that turned casual visitors into confident buyers.
For this project, Blinto utilized WooCommerce (on WordPress) as the core e-commerce platform. This provided a powerful and scalable foundation tailored for online retail. First, WooCommerce provides full customization, allowing far greater design freedom and functional flexibility compared to Shopify’s more rigid templates. Unlike Shopify’s app ecosystem, which often requires ongoing fees, WooCommerce enables the integration of many essential features without monthly app costs, offering better value over time. Additionally, the combination of WordPress and WooCommerce delivered superior SEO control, crucial for boosting organic traffic. The platform also allowed for deeper integrations with advanced marketing tools, analytics platforms, and CRM systems—something that was limited on Shopify. Perhaps most importantly, WooCommerce ensured complete ownership of the website and its data, eliminating vendor lock-in and giving Foreplay Golf Shop full control over its online presence.
